Recently, I've been looking into dressing a little more hippie this summer. I mean, the headbands, the shirts, the bracelets and sandals, the loose skirts, the patterns, everything free.

Spring and Summer 2012 Fashion TRENDS
Hey! Well, you've seen what NOT to wear . . . so, what DO you wear? Here are some obvious hip fashion trends for spring and summer of 2012:
- pastels - most popular is soft mint green
- plenty of red (a VERY "in" color right now)
- floral prints - biggest hit
- lace shirts, skirts, headbands, bracelets, bags, shoes .. . pretty much anything
- black and white - they'll always defy time together!
- designers have shown much interest in stripes, prints, geometric prints and great takes on animal prints
- once again, MINT GREEN
- bags and shoes will, unfortunately, be coming out in a lot of neon. Crewcuts has already gotten a head start on neon.
- crocheted items are in now, mainly crocheted vests (<3 so cute <3)
- orange is jumping into the limelight along with mint green
- thick elastic belts
- small, square leather bags
- unfortunately, kitten heels are back (which, in my opinion, are extremely ugly)
- creamy neutral and natural colors
- flowing pajama-style clothes (but NOT pajamas - that's something I need to add to the fashion no-no's list - pajamas in public)
- loose clothes such as tunics
- whimsical patterns everywhere on the racks
- good old stripes, which seem to hold the place in fashion year after year
- high waisted pants are pretty cool now, but I've never worn them
- also, a personal favorite, blazers are showing up on women very well for spring!

Helpful 10 Fashion No-Nos
All of the outfits I've been posting are outfits that I like. I now realize that this blog isn't useful unless I give out fashion tips and information! Here's an example of something NOT to wear:
This is hideous because (this is rule # 1) you should never wear light socks, tights, pants or leggings with light shoes or boots.
Rule # 2: Never wear pants that are too short on your ankles (it looks awkward).
Rule # 3 (this one is kind of dissing myself because I do it sometimes): Never wear leggings if your top doesn't cover your butt.
Rule # 4: Don't wear dark eye makeup AND dark lipstick - it's hideous and looks overly goth (unless you're trying to convey the look of Dracula or a very emo person.
Rule # 5: If you're over 30, do not wear Juicy sweatsuits or sparkly sweatshirts, do not wear teenager outfits, do not wear teenager makeup, DO NOT GET A TAN, and PLEASE do not wear your hair in a high ponytail unless working in the garden.
Rule # 6: Do no wear a shirt that doesn't cover your bra. It's just plain wrong.
Rule # 7: If you are over 5, do not wear Crocs in public, unless at a beach or gardening.
Rule # 8: DO NOT MIX PATTERNS!!!!!
Rule # 9: Don't wear sneakers of any kind with formal clothes.
Rule# 10: The most important and most needed: NEVERSAGYOURPANTSORDIE!!! Sagging your pants it just hideous. So is really skinny jeans on men. But whatever.
Old Navy Business First Impresssion
Personally, I would wear this to make a good first impression on a job. It's tidy, spiffy, and ultra adorable. The color scheme is the best part, and it reminds one of the ocean, and summer breeze. Every item is from Old Navy except for the belt (which I am sure you can find easily at any business clothing store, or even at Old Navy) and the necklace, which I'm also sure you could find anywhere (I recommend starting with a second-hand store or antique).
Of course, the blouse would be tucked into the lovely skirt, for a practical effect.
